Confused about the upgrade from a genuine copy

Recommended Posts

I would like to try out the newest build since it seems to be stable enough.

What have me confused is; if I upgrade from my current activated Windows and decided to stick with the insider build until the release will I then be able to upgrade to RTM from the insider build and still be activated or do I need to reinstall my Windows copy and then upgrade to the RTM?

You will get Windows 10 RTM once it's available as an upgrade from the insider builds: https://www.neowin.net/news/nearly-4-million-insiders-will-receive-windows-10-rtm-as-a-free-upgrade

However, you'll need to have a valid Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 license to receive the RTM upgrade.

So as long as I have my license key I can upgrade to RTM directly from a insider build?

Tweet @GabeAul and ask him directly. No one here knows the exact process/answer at this time. So it's pointless to ask.

I see. Well there is so many articles saying different things so it's all a confusing mess. At least now I know there is no answer yet. Thanks for the replies.
