SoCalRox
I've been running Windows 10 happily on my old HP DV7-2185DX but lately, I have two issues that I cannot find a way to resolve, no matter how much time I spend on Google.` This is a fresh install, build 10074. Core 2 Qyad Q6600, 6GB RAM, OCZ Agility 3 SSD (120 GB) boot, 750 GB HD also. Old cheap crappy but fully functional Dell Mouse is attached as well. 1. The Start Menu has disappeared. I had Classic Shell 4.2.1 installed but removed it. No good. Reinstalled Classic Shell. No good. Cursed at it. No good. Sacrificed a virgin to the Incan gods. No bueno. Ideas? 2. I am getting a DPC Watchdog error (no codes) when I start typing much, but that is not the only time it happens. I have checked the drivers and all are current. Checked the SSD firmware. It's current. Had Tom Brady deflate some footballs to thrown at the machine. Did nothing but incur a fine and suspension. Figured since it's a Watchdog thing, a nice looking girly dog would make it happy. Computer growled, girly dog ran off. HELP!
SoCalRox
By the way- the first problem, with the start menu, also happened on my VM on a Mac, but removing Classic Shell 4.2.1 worked to reverse the problem. Not so on my Windows laptop.
SoCalRox
UPDATE: Upgraded to the new build yesterday. Menu is back, but the DPC errors continue. Does anyone have any idea what to do? It reboots VERY often. Oh- and the processore is a Q9000, not Q6600. Duh.
