Create Outlook account, how to confirm email

Question

I'm trying to create a new email address on Outlook. I filled out the details, then it says, "To check this is really you, please confirm your email address by clicking the link in the email". I can't do this because the account hasn't been made yet. It takes me back to this page what ever I try. Help?! =(

I looked at the sign up form to create a new account... I don't see alternative email address for confirmation.

Only phone number.

At the end of it, it asks you to enter the security code which is displayed at you to make sure that you are not a bot.

Edit:

Wait. did you use your own email address from other provider as outlook account? If so, that's the problem. You have to have an active email address in case they send you a confirmation.

Yes...This is a pain, particularly when a new user wants an email for MS account. I keep a spare generic outlook email account for this purpose to help others. Then all they have to do is change password for their account later.....Cheers

Didn't answer the question...

When you click the verification link, you're asked to type a series of random characters as shown in a picture.

Irrelevant... he doesn't have an email

OP:

Go to:

https://signup.live.com/

Click "Or Get a new email address" DO NOT ENTER an @outlook.com email, just the username

Also, someone may already have that outlook email address.
