  1. 1. Have you retired your last-gen consoles?

    • Yep! Out with the old, in with the new!
    • No way, the old girls still have some life left in 'em!
    • I have no next-gen consoles to replace the last-gen ones with :(
    • Other. 'Splain yourself in the comment section.

I always sell the old one before buying new. I don't play any online multiplayer. And I am finished with single player games by the time of an upgrade.

Same with games. When I finish the game, or stop playing for a while, I sell it.

Why keep something you never use because *potentially you might use it

I don't collect them.

Nah, daughter still plays her Wii off and on, and got a couple first-gen XBox's laying around that were modded for XBMC, got those hooked up to some "misc TV's" that don't merit getting tied into the DVR system due to being rarely used.  A few are ready to go though -- Got a Dreamcast but haven't fired that up in quite a few months now, probably time to get rid of that, if the mood hits I got an emulator for it anyway. Think there's a PS1 in the garage that needs to go too, again if the retro mood hits me got an emu for that. None are being replaced with current stuff though, haven't had serious interest in consoles for quite a while.

I have "retired" my Wii console by the time I got my Wii U console on release day (Nov 18th, 2012).

My brother told me he will probably retire his PS3 when he gets a PS4.

Could you put this option in:

- I have no next-gen consoles to replace the last-gen ones with : )

Last console I had was a SNES which replaced my Atari.  PC gaming all the way after the SNES.  No : ( about it.

My X360 sits right next to the X1, granted I haven't used the 360 in a long long time.

Well I guess if you owned consoles you would be interested in upgrading them, hence the :(

If you have no interest in consoles then this topic is largely irrelevant.

Still rocking my 2 360s and my XBMC nodded original Xbox. I plan to eventually get an Xbox One but as long as the 360 is supported on Live, I'm in no hurry.

I have 2 Xbox 360s and a Xbox One.

One of the 360s is being used for media which has many media apps. Of course it has TV app for this one.

Xbox One is being used for TV, Media (a few apps right now but they plan to add more similar to X360)...

I play games on both consoles depends on what I want to play. (Not the same time as you think).

I have the xbox 360 and I have practically replaced it with my PC, I haven't used it as much I as I used to. I just use it occassionally and I have kept it because of games with gold

My 360 still sees more use than Xbone since I have all of my existing 360 games which I'm not prepared to simply throw away.

Nope, when PS4's extra features catches up to the PS3 then I will. Kind of sad really.

Good PS3 games I have to finish also.

I actually just bought myself a new 360 (The blue 500GB model) a few months back to replace my old Elite, I've still got a bunch of 360 games I haven't finished, and the thing still works so why get rid of it?

Well for me... the last gen (XBox360 in my case) is the end of console buying in general as video games as a whole just don't interest me like they once did when i was younger as i had most consoles at some point from Atari 2600 Jr (basically the late 1980's (i was born late 1979)) and newer. i still have quite a few XBox's (the ones that came out in 2001) as they are pretty great for SD video playback (using XBMC) which makes them still see use. i got a Dreamcast, which collects stacks of dust for years now, and the XBox360 which i have not used since Mortal Kombat 9/Forza 4 which is 2011/2012 area.

just not many games are worth playing anymore especially not enough to justify the costs. even when i do play a game once in a while it's going to be replaying a game from a while back now. hell, the last game i remember finishing would have been Max Payne 3 on PC which was pretty much 3 years ago now. but i would say by the time i was around 30-ish years old (ill be 36 later this year) i could tell video games as a whole took a hit vs what they once were. nowadays it seems most games are just rehashes of the same ol' crap just with better graphics. the time put into them vs what you get out of them just ain't worth it as i find movies clearly more enjoyable nowadays as that's my core entertainment in general and don't need to spend a bunch of time on them either as hours spent on movies clearly gets me more overall entertainment than hours spend on games.

so as far as the topic goes... i pretty much retired the last-gen consoles but have no plans on getting any current, or future, gen ones either.

Voted yes because I haven't touched any of my 360s in ages, or my PS3 or Wii in even longer. But they are right there, modded, ready for action if I ever want to play on them. Can't really see that happening though, they just don't have the nostalgia of my older consoles.

Having lots of fun on PC, Xbox One and Wii U.

My 360 now has permanent residence in the attic.

At the end of the day, i've played all the games on it to death and it serves no function that the XB1 doesn't do better, so the old chap got retired.

Once i sort myself out a PS4 then the PS3 will also be retired. Once i fancy a bit of nostalgia i'll dust them off.

I have my GameCube, Xbox Classic, Xbox 360 and Xbox One hooked up to the main TV.

As to which is used depends, if i'm playing by myself ill play on the Xbox One, however the Xbox 360 still probably gets the most use as it has loads of games that can be played 4 player split screen, or two player split screen then system linked to another console which is hooked up to my PC's monitor.

In comparison the Xbox One has very few games you can split screen with two people, let alone 3 or 4. I'd like to play on it more, however its not really a social console for playing with people in the same room as you.

The GameCube is still there for Mario Kart Double Dash and Smash Bros Melee, possibly the two most fun games to play with 4 people around a console! The Xbox Classic is used for randomly emulating older consoles.

I don't think new is immediately better, the Xbox One's one and a half year old library can't beat the nine and a half year game library the 360 has built up.

I still have 2 360s (won one that I never really used) that I still use as media centers in various rooms.

I upgraded to a X1 last year but my X360 and PS3 are still hooked up and used regularly. Still plenty of life left in both of them  I still have a large collection of games still waiting to be completed on my last-gen consoles

Wii was replaced by Wii U.

PS3 is still hooked up for the media server and games in my backlog.
