cork1958
My wife just received a letter from Preferred Client Services to get a free Android tablet for participating in a survey. The letter says that once she has received and tested the tablet to fill out a 9 question survey about the tablet. Has anyone done this and if so, how often did you keep hearing from them? Were you bombarded with phone calls? It says it has free shipping and handling but we have to simply pick it up. Why, or where, would we have to pick it up from if it's getting shipped to her? http://www.preferredclient.services/ The website appears to be fairly old and outdated as all the stories there are from October and November of last year, from what I looked at real quick. Thank you
gohpep
Sounds sketchy. Remember that when something is free, you are the product.
Tomo
Sounds dodgy to me
Mulrian
Definitely sounds like someone who would sell you data to anyone and everyone who wants it.
cork1958
Yeah, I know it's one of those things that sounds to good to be true, which is why I was checking to see if anyone has ever participated in one of these things before. Thanks for the feedback
PGHammer
Yeah, I know it's one of those things that sounds to good to be true, which is why I was checking to see if anyone has ever participated in one of these things before. Thanks for the feedback I'd MUCH rather get a discounted tablet directly from the OEM and be surveyed about it. Visual Land (the only tablet-only OEM I know of that sells in the US) has done a few of these; in fact, they have one going on now for a Lollipop-based tablet: the Prestige Elite 7 QS. At $50USD, free shipping, and only one tablet per customer, I'd expect to be surveyed, since it's not in retail yet. (Visual Land itself is only "somewhat" brand X, as they have been selling via Micro Center, HSN, and QVC just this year.) If you're looking for an Android tablet on the cheap, at least get one from a decent-quality ODM. http://www.visual-land.com/7qs/
Arachno 1D
http://www.cbs46.com/Clip/10920991/i-got-a-letter-from-preferred-client-services-is-it-a-scam It seems the offer to allow you to pick up the tablet is a way to get you to attend a presentation/sales pitch http://www.bbb.org/western-michigan/business-reviews/communication-consultants/preferred-client-services-in-grand-rapids-mi-38162429/customer-reviews Glad I checked Preferred Client Services on BBB before I fell for their pitch. Received letter promising a table just for reviewing it after I received it. NO OBLIGATION letter said. But I see on here just a scam for you to attend a seminar!! Like the saying - if it's too good to believe it - See more at: Beware: You will need to do a 90 Minute Video meeting at their offices to receive this Android, this is a company that does promotions for a Discount Travel. - See more at: http://www.bbb.org/western-michigan/business-reviews/communication-consultants/preferred-client-services-in-grand-rapids-mi-38162429/customer-reviews#sthash.JDCzMxcO.dpuf
MikeChipshop Member Posted May 27, 2015 Member Share Posted May 27, 2015 These things exist, hell i've done a fair few, but the genuine companies wont approach you, you'd have to approach them and then meet their criteria.
Xilo
I know someone that has done genuine surveys and regularly gets emails about them. They offer anywhere from like $100-$300 for a couple hours of time.
TAZMINATOR
Why would you want to do that? I already have a tablet and wife probably wouldn't even begin to know how to use one. If I had gone through with this, I probably would've given the tablet to my sister. I knew this wasn't going to be worth any effort. Thanks for the replies. No need for any more.
