Got3n Posted May 28, 2015 Share Posted May 28, 2015 Ok so I'm having issues with with 2x of my 256GB 850' pro ssd's. They are getting slow read and write speeds, but here is the thing, I have already gotten 2 new ones from Samsung cause I thought they were the issue but the new ones are doing the same thing. Im on my z87 Maximus Hero VI in the correct sata port but still nothing. Back when I first got them in April they were working just fine in my Raid0 as a secondary to my 840's in a Raid0. From raid to raid I was getting 1.1GB/s and was happy. One day all of a sudden bam i was no longer able to transfer to the 850 raid for more than 5 second before the speed dropped to zero then would climb then drop again, but would never climb above like 100MB/s. This is when I thought I had two bad drives, so I got new one from samsung under their 90 day return policy. Plugged in the new ones and same thing. So now I broke up the raid, testing each drive on its own and the write speeds are like 450-490MB/s doing a 3GB test but the read speeds are like 100-200MB/s on any of the ports I use in my machine. My 840's work perfectly on all my ports no problem, just the 850's wont work right. Plugged in the 850's into my gf's machine and tested them and worked flawlessly. So I assumed now it was my mobo, but if it is my mobo why are my 840's working fine? I updated drivers and everything and still nothing. I thought maybe my win 8.1 was bad so I unplugged my 840 raid (OS DISK) and plugged in my 850's and setup raid0 in my machine and install a fresh 8.1 (which took like 8 minutes....) then tested the 850's and still super slow speeds. Im really at a loss, should I be sending my mobo in even if my 840's work? Oh ps, updated Mobo firmware as well, still same result. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
sc302 Veteran Posted May 28, 2015 Veteran Share Posted May 28, 2015 If you have narrowed it down to your mobo, what mobo do you have. Have you ran the samsung magician software and updated it? Have you ran the performance tuning on it? Have you reran the windows experience assessment? What other things have you done to the drive(s) with the samsung magician software?
