BoDEAN
Right now, All my music is in /mp3 on my synology nas. I have Itunes on my pc organize all my music. However, I recently got a bose soundbar, and found that to play my music, it needs to be in the default /music folder on the nas to be seen and played. What is the easiest way to move my music from the /mp3 folder, to the music folder, and not mess anything up with itunes and my tags?

raid0
If I read well the shortest answer is to locate your xml file which contains the location of each files of your iTunes playlist and do a "search and replace" to write the new location. I did that often when I needed to transfer files from old pc to new pc and that was going perfectly.
mykola
In iTunes under preferences, there's a tab where you can change the library location to point to the NAS then it will consolidate it all over to the new location ?
BoDEAN
In iTunes under preferences, there's a tab where you can change the library location to point to the NAS then it will consolidate it all over to the new location ? So the NAS has a default music folder on it. So you are saying I need to share that music folder, then point to that folder in "change library location" and thats it? It will move everything from the mp3 to the default music folder? Or will i have to delete the mp3 folder afterwards?
mykola
You may need to delete them yourself afterwards, I can't remember if it did it for me when I moved my library. But in essence yes that is what you would do, my NAS has music, pictures, and videos folders set shared by default so I'd imagine it's something similar.
