Wyoming woman charged with child endangerment after kids miss school bus

Misleading title.

In what way?   Was she charged before they missed the school bus?  Missing the school bus is what lead to the call to police which prompted the investigation and charges.

Title implies it is because they missed the school bus but, it is because mommy is an alcoholic and a meth addict.

The article is very poorly written and is lacking in detail but it seems obvious the mother was charged because of her addiction problems and the squalid living conditions rather than because her children missed the school bus. Therefore the title is misleading.

Well the reason she was charged was because the children told the school why they missed the bus which led authorities to enter her home and discover the living conditions and her addiction problems. If they didn't miss the bus, the school would not have known what happened. It also says "after".

So yes, the title is valid.

No, it's misleading. The title here should be something along the lines of 'Mother charged with child endangerment after missed school bus raises alarm'.

No its not, it's clickbait. It might actually be interesting if missing the school bus was somehow the reason for the charges, but it's not, and thus otherwise just another drug addict caught being ###### to her kids (and if the title reflected that, nobody would bother reading it).

The thread title matches that of the original story, so perhaps these complaints should be directed to the Billings Gazette?

I don't think anybody suggested otherwise.

The title says she was charged after the kids missed the bus, not because they missed the bus.   So as I said, "Missing the school bus is what lead to the call to police which prompted the investigation and charges," remains accurate.

The issue isn't whether it's technically accurate, it's whether it accurately represents the context of the situation - it doesn't.

It took you 3 days to come up with that, splitting hairs aren't you?  It's a headline for goodness sakes.   And it does represent the events that took place.

Geesh, got to love all the comments here.  instead of talking about what a tool/######ing irresponsible idiot the mother is...people are talking about the title and how misleading it is.
