No display before login screen

Hey all,

 

About a month ago following the installation of windows updates and amd catalyst 15.4 i ran into an issue. So what happens is

 

PC POSTS

Windows Boots

Before the login screen, both display's say "no signal". i have tried running a single screen on hdmi and dvi. with no luck.

If i try to boot to safe mode with a recovery disk, the same thing happens.

If i try to repair with a recovery disk, the repair fails.

 

Most things i've found online say boot to safemode and remove the device and reboot but obviously, can't get to that point to try that..

 

Really keen to get this install working again before Windows 10 launches. any suggestions would be appreciated.

 

Edit: forgot to mention, clean installed windows 8 and windows 10,  they both work with no issue so i am ruling out a hardware issue on this one..

Could be the driver? Is it a big deal that you don't see the Windows logo on boot up?

 

I know when I boot my machine I get the bios screen, then it goes blank until the login prompt.
