Jim K Global Moderator Posted June 13, 2015 Global Moderator Share Posted June 13, 2015 You'll be able to keep your programs, files and settings. If you're concerned that you will lose things ... then back them up. You'll be fine though because the upgrade is nondestructive. Big question is ... does the Anytime Upgrade still work? LimeMaster
If you type your Ultimate key in Windows Anytime Upgrade, it should upgrade without a hassle. Also, Windows 10 is coming out in 29th of July, so you may hold off on the upgrade to Ultimate, as you'll be to get Windows 10 for free once its out. Then all you will need to worry about is activating it via OEM / Retail etc.

Thanks I think on a good hunch that when you do upgrade, all your documents and pictures etc will be found in the "windows.old" folder anyway>
helpifIcan
No matter what you decide to do it is always best to clone the drive before doing things like this, because you never know. Chances are slim but not impossible.
mduren2445
Like everyone has said you should have no problems but you should backup everything just in case something happens before you try it
James035
No . The option to format your hard disk is available during a custom installation if you start, or boot, your computer using the Windows 7 installation disc or a USB flash drive, but formatting isn't required. For best results: a clean install is recommended. Of course recommend use tools like Acronis ,EaseUS backup your data.
