Alternative chargers (especially on eBay) are generally cheap chinese crap and is usually the cause of people's devices exploding when charging. If you are going to get one, get a quality one off Amazon.

I would get an alternative from amazon, after researching proper review from brand X.

As pointed by Xilo, cheap chinese knockoffs use subpar cable, soldering, etc.

For Phones, but you get the idea:

The same advice I always give as with batteries. ORIGINAL. Cheap knockoffs are made to virtually non existant safety standards, and are too risky. The Chinese underground don't give a crap about anything but money, they'll clone anything without a care for human life.

It's always safer to pay a little more for genuine accessories where high voltage power and chemical reactions are concerned, rather than risk wiping yourself or your device, or even your building out.

+1 there are cheaper and better alternatives, I just can't be assed to look for them atm. I recall from some website it there was a charger that provided cleaner and was more efficient with power.

Nope Id say both ebay and amazon seem to have plenty of counterfeit items sold as original and as you paid a lot for the system in the first place stick with manufacturer supplied parts
