LOL - I thought that too - you know he was teased by his buddies, but - I thought it was a good story nonetheless.

Man that's like unbelievable. There's so many good quotes potential on this. "We have the total package". "I raised a gentleman". I could see myself refence this here and there for a while. I'm such a total **** lol.

Seeing as the graduation rate is only around 47% for African Americans, (http://www.csg.org/pubs/capitolideas/enews/issue6_3.aspx), I suppose I can see why Ms. O'Neal would want to celebrate. Sadly, the bar is set rather low these days in the black community. When I was growing up, graduating high school and being a good citizen were a given.

Anyway, if she can afford the cost of a billboard as a single mom of 6, good for her. If it turns out she's receiving welfare, then my opinion would change, however.

I do wish the young man a good future.

Some good, positive news.  The Mom loves her son and is proud and there is nothing wrong in her showing it publicly.  Good for her and congrats to him.

This doesn't make sense....  Title states that she rented billboard but the article says she bought it...

hmm

I dont think you can "buy" a billboard.  Most of the time, you rent it from an advertising company and then you can put up what you want

That is all you got out of this ?

Buying advertising space = renting.

A billboard is an advertising space.

1 + 1 still equals 2. ;)

Don't ask me... ask someone who wrote that article....

I know you can rent the billboard these days...

I know how it works but  the writer should put "rented" in the article instead of bought... that's simple.
