ultimate99
So I was trying to take out the wifi adapter and the screw head got damaged. I used the correct screw driver size, the but the screw was so tight it won't budge. Link I don't want to do soldering or drilling in this place (i don't have these tools, anyway). Suggestions? Timelimit
You could try a pair of pliers, try and grip it tightly and slowly turn/loosen the screw. Did the other screw come out easily?
Marshall Veteran Posted June 29, 2015 Veteran Share Posted June 29, 2015 Try using a torx screwdriver with some super glue or other adhesive. Just put a small dab of glue and allow the screwdriver to dry to the screw. Draconian Guppy and Buttus 2 Share

I tried, but they're not small enough to grip tightly. The head is so narrow.
helpifIcan
If you have or access to a small grinder you could cut a slot an hope it comes out with a flat blade driver.
exotoxic
I heard rubber bands can be used to provide friction in these circumstances.

Or a metal file will work as well. And can always drill out the screw but if so, be patient and dont rush the processes. Drilling may be the only option if you can get your hands on a drill. Draconian Guppy
Try using a torx screwdriver with some super glue or other adhesive. Just put a small dab of glue and allow the screwdriver to dry to the screw. this has helped me more than once, I just sacrifice the screwdrive, eg superglue to the screw, hold it for 15 minutes. then unscrew. You could probably get the screw off if you run it under really hot water, or use a hammer and smack it off.. save yourself the screwdriver. sc302 Veteran Posted June 29, 2015 Veteran Share Posted June 29, 2015 I would drill and use a screw extractor. But the superglue and torx bit sounds like a good secondary solution. Draconian Guppy 1 Share
