And MSFT announced they'll be creating their own distrobution of Linux. the announcement is to come within a month or so. the Article stated Nadella said that with malware and viruses, having a Microsoft (MIUS) Linux

. It will have a similar look to Windows but they want to create this distro to leverage Linux as a more powerful system and since its more geared toward the desktop.

ok I'm looking at my windows phone and the news sourse Inquisitr states: "Miux by MSFT- Windows 10 Maker may release its own Linux OS soon. it will be announced at the Ignite event in chicago and will be aptly named Miux.

sorry if this was already reported but been out of the loop and looked around here for past posts and haven't seen it reported. ok found the Link:

I'll believe it when I have it on my hard drive. Microsoft making a linux distro doesn't make sense from a business standpoint.

Edit: Researched it further. It's a joke. It would be a cold day in hell when this happens.

It's fake.  Look at the source article and click the "Know more about Microsoft's Linux OS" link, takes you to the Wikipedia April Fools Day page.  (That, and the article is dated April 1...)

What did you ask Cortana for that made that #1?

If this was the category view, what was the category was it listed under?

Well, Windows 10 has copied a hell of a lot of GNU/Linux/FOSS features (package management, workspaces, etc), so in some sense, it's getting closer to Linux. It's still no where near as powerful, flexible, or secure as Linux though. In truth, I doubt it ever will in its current incarnation.

That's cute, and no mention of the many things that they copied off of other operating systems (or stuff that should be copied).  Meh.
