ultimate99
Last time I did a hackintosh was back in 2006/2007. Now, I want to dual boot to OS X in my current setup. But I want to know the compatibility with my hardware. Here doesn't list my mobo or graphics, where can I know beforehand that my hardware is compatible? Mobo: Asus H87i-Plus Cpu: i5 4440 Gfx: AMD Radeon 7950 3gb Additionally, I know I can access a Mac to download OS X, but where can I buy OS X in Canada? US Apple seem to only have them... The_Observer
http://www.tonymacx86.com/mavericks-desktop-support/103788-just-warning-asus-mobos.html I think gigabyte motherboards are better to use. I think you video card should be fine.
Boo Berry
ASUS, MSI and ASRock boards are as good as Gigabyte boards. http://www.rampagedev.com/ The only site you need for your Hackintosh needs - don't bother with Tonymac's site. PsYcHoKiLLa
iAtkos will most likely make you a customised image but it would cost you a "donation"
Aergan
InsanelyMac are a very good community for all things hackintosh. Some great developers there for getting drivers ported etc. My first board was a Gigabyte Z97N-Gaming 5 which worked quite well after swapping the Intel WLAN board out for a supported Azurewave variant. My current Z97 from ASRock comes with the same Azurewave AW-CE123H and I'm pretty impressed so far. Just a word of caution, obtaining OS X should be through a legal means / loophole as far as discussions go as opposed to piracy: https://www.neowin.net/forum/forum-60/announcement-30-os-x-on-non-apple-hardware/ Edited June 30, 2015 by Aergan
TDT
Asus MB was all I ever used on hackintoshes, it works perfectly. Also ASRock mobos. The problem with your setup will be the Radeon GPU, nVidia has much higher compatibility, but it's not a deal breaker. I can help you if there's something you need to know, just send me a pm and we'll make it work
Boo Berry
The problem with your setup will be the Radeon GPU, nVidia has much higher compatibility Nah, the 7950 should work fine - although you may need to patch the framebuffer with your bootloader to get full acceleration (use Clover for your bootloader, avoid Chameleon/Chimera). iAtkos will most likely make you a customised image but it would cost you a "donation" Avoid distros like iAtkos and Niresh like the plague. InsanelyMac and Rampage Dev are the two best sites on the net for Hackintoshing. Aergan 1 Share
jamieakers
TonyMacX86 has some really straight-forward guides - I've been using that for my hackintosh.
