benjamine6
I installed the Insider preview program that adds the option of installing Windows 10 to Windows update. But it's checking for updates and it wont check properly. Something is wrong here. Could someone help me out?

The_Decryptor Veteran Posted July 1, 2015 Veteran Share Posted July 1, 2015 If it's a brand new 7 install then it'll probably take about 3 hours to run. At least that's how long it took for me on a fresh install last weekend.

Argi
https://www.bing.com/search?q=8024001b&pc=MOZI&form=MOZLBR which leads to this. As others have said, keep going and rebooting until all updates are installed. Jim K 1 Share
Baleno_E
UPDATE: It's saying this now.Capture.PNG Click Start button, enter Services.msc and open it, find Windows Update in the list, double-click it and click stop. Then go to folder: C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download and C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\DataStore, delete all the files in these two folders. Back to services.msc, and enable Windows update. Then you can open Windows Update, the problems should be fixed and you will be able to install the updates. Have a try! I have solved such updates problems by this method several times. Jim K Global Moderator Posted July 2, 2015 Global Moderator Share Posted July 2, 2015 UPDATE: It's saying this now.Capture.PNG In Audien's post ... the second link has the following: If you continue to see this error, see this automatic troubleshooter on the Microsoft Support website, or go to the Microsoft Answers website for more assistance. Download the "automatic troubleshooter" and it should clear up the issue. I've always been pleasantly surprised by how well "automatic troubleshooter" works (especially with WU issues). If it is a fresh install...have fun!
