+Zagadka Subscriber² Posted July 4, 2015 Subscriber² Share Posted July 4, 2015 So Windows Update was being bitchy about a IE11 update. I removed IE11. All was alright-ish, though Windows still wanted to run the update. I went back and re-enabled IE11 through the Windows Features... but it won't install. I've gone through group policies and such, made sure everything was enabled, but it just jumps to "Applying Changes" then, after a minute, error that points to the MS KB article about changing the group policy. Thoughts?
The Evil Overlord
Disable windows updates, delete the deletable content in c:\windows\software distrobution\downloads Restart, re enable updates and see if that helps Failing that, I believe ie11 is available as a standalone installer If you need it, I'll try to find you the link (If memory serves it updates iteself so you don't need to)
+Zagadka Subscriber² Posted July 4, 2015 Author Subscriber² Share Posted July 4, 2015 No luck with that. Oddly, though, I noticed that even with IE11 uninstalled, WU still wants to patch it, and hangs on downloading it.
The Evil Overlord
Try this download, failing that, I'm guessing a corrupt file somewhere (My brother had a Shut ton of problems with his windows, and had to do a reformat, he had a very similar problem and was unable to isolate the file/problem)
+Zagadka Subscriber² Posted July 5, 2015 Author Subscriber² Share Posted July 5, 2015 No luck, I'm going the nuclear route. Needed to reformat before 10 anyway. Thanks for the suggestions!
