UXTheme patched, but start button won't change properly

Recommended Posts

I'm running Windows 7 Pro x64 bit with Service Pack 1. I have patched the theme files using UXTheme Multi-Patch.

When I try to apply a theme (I've tried this with multiple themes) the task bar skins perfectly, but the start button stays oversized and unthemed.

When I try to theme the start button with Windows 7 Start Button Changer, it will apply the theme but I will have an over-large white box surrounding the start button. It looks like the start menu button isn't treating the transparency properly. I've searched all over google and I can't find a solution to this particular problem.

Could anyone please help me to solve this issue?

Here are a couple pictures of the over-sized start button, and the white background.

Start button is something that has nothing to do with uxtheme, you don't need to have your uxtheme patched for it.

Try the following tool instead:

Above program might require 3 seperate images, if that's the case, post a link of the start button you want to apply and I can make it into the 3 images.
