Recommended Posts

BitTorrent has unveiled a new browser called Maelstrom. The browser is yet another Chromium based browser, this time utilizing the power of torrents to drive it. Find out more here.

Ugh, another Chromium based browser, they didn't even bother to change how it looks :|

This has already been done. Torch, anyone? BitTorrent Inc can get *stuffed*, I'm tired of their monopolizing, turning decent programs into spyware junk..

Installed.

It's chrome with some sort of torrent support bolted on.

Uninstalled.

They've replaced the TCP/UDP/HTTP layer with BitTorrent, so instead of downloading pages from a single server, it downloads it like a torrent file.

It's not "just" a BitTorrent client, it's a P2P web browser.

Why change what isn't broken?

They could have at least change something up a bit, it's honestly just lazy work in my opinion. With the browser looking essentially identical to Chromium which is identical to Chrome when it comes to looks, people are going to be quick to dismiss it.

However, this is a pretty early build, so the looks may change over time.
