Elliot B.
I bought a 5V 2A mains plug from eBay to charge my tablet but I get the feeling it's actually only 500 mA or 1000 mA as my tablet charges slowly. Is there a device I can buy to test USB mains plug amps? Could the USB cable be the issue? Is there a device to test those?

Elliot B.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gombosdev.ampere&hl=en Mobile devices draw different amounts at different times, depending on their charge percentage, the device's heat etc. so unfortunately, such an app wouldn't be conclusive enough for me. http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00JIFMXSK Nice

Providing you have an Android device, it will fit your need, as it will show if it's charging over 500 mA or 1A

That's true. but its free and it works. My genuine nexus 5 charges shows me 800mA max. I've tested it on my parents chargers are got 1400mA on my moms tablet charger and 1500mA on my dads LG G3 charger.
