Church pastor tackles robber during sermon, Melbourne FL police say

Melbourne police arrested a man who they say tried to rob churchgoers during a sermon, but was tackled by the church pastor.

John Grace was charged with robbery in the Sunday morning incident at the Christian Fellowship Church.

Police said Grace walked into the church and put up a BB gun of an exact replica of Sig Sauer pistol to a parishioner's head and demanded money from all of the parishioners.

According to the report, Grace threatened to shoot them all if they didn't comply and ordered everyone on the ground, telling them to tie themselves up with zip-ties.

The pastor of the church approached Grace and began to talk to him, police said. Once the pastor got close enough to Grace, the pastor tackled him and the pastor's son helped him wrestle the gun away, according to the report.

Grace was held down by the pastor's son until police arrived and arrested him.
