Ariz. man uses company card for $476K in online strippers

A sex-obsessed employee really stripped his company.

Tech services manager John David Berrett of Gilbert, Ariz., is accused of charging nearly half a million dollars on his corporate credit card for online strippers.

Berrett, 40, was indicted last week on five counts of wire fraud by a federal grand jury in Missouri.

Berrett, who worked as a national solutions architect for Missouri-based World Wide Technology, allegedly rang up $476,000 in fake expenses between Sept. 16, 2013, and Oct. 21, 2014, most of it earmarked as gifts or services for online strippers, according to an eight-page indictment.

The scheme saw Berrett, who regularly traveled to assist clients with IT training and support in the U.S. and abroad, use his company’s credit card to fund his sexscapades and file fraudulent expenses, prosecutors claim.

He charged his corporate card $100,000 for tokens – good for 2,200 visits – to chat with women, watch them strip naked and masturbate via webcams on the sex site MyFreeCams.com, according to the indictment.

Berrett didn’t stop there.

He lavished his favorite strippers with gifts — chocolates, flowers, electronic equipment, wine, shoes, a TV, a handbag, a laptop computer and an iPod — the feds allege.

The Internet perv even sent $26,800 to help one of his online honeys with her college tuition bill, new tires and parents' utilities, the indictment says.

Berrett also charged $131 on the company card to purchase a Fleshlight sex toy for himself, the feds claim.

World Wide Technology, which has an office in Phoenix, said Berrett no longer worked there and that it was cooperating with authorities.

I could probably figure out the username of this guy... The high dollar tippers stand out like a sore thumb.

I never understood them honestly. Why pay thousands of dollars for a webcam show when you could at least spend the same amount for an overnight escort?

Obviously he felt that he wouldn't be caught doing the online transactions. I have no idea how the escort service would charge, but I'm sure it would be some anonymous name, not "Escort Service" but hen again wouldn't the online be fairly anonymous?

If its through and escort agency, it'll cost at least 1k per hour or 5-10k per night. However, it's up to the escorts to decide on how much to charge

These services are obviously popular for a variety of reasons, from individual fetishes to being seen as more discrete than getting an actual escort.

Still if you are going to commit fraud, and on that scale, may as well make it worth it.  Could have had so much fun with all that money, I'm inclined to agree with Zag, underachiever of the year award right there.
