Origin and invalid license number on Windows 10

Recommended Posts

Hi!

I just installed Windows 10 a couple of weeks ago and i'm in the process of restoring all my things. I had no problem restoring my Steam and GOG library from a backup. Even Uplay was nice to me. But last night i tried to restore my Origin library (10 games) and one game gives me trouble. Dragon Age Origins.

When i try to start the game it gives me this error.

We're sorry, an error has occurred

Invalid license. Reason code = Missing DLL : [NxCharacter.dll] Error : 0x7E.

I did some research online and could not find anything that solves my problem. The NxCharacter.dll is there in the bin_ship directory with the other dll. So it's clearly not missing. I tried to repair the game with no success. And i would like to avoid re-installing cause the download is 9GB and i'm on a metered connection and anyway i'm not even sure if re-installing will solve the issue.

Anyone had a problem like this with Origin and know how to solve it without re-installing everything?

Please note that this is a clean install of windows 10 and a clean install or Origin. I installed both lately. Only the game is re-installed from a backup.
