Massacre survivor Dr. Suzanna Gratia Hupp defends gun rights -FULL- below

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBLWLUEnRl0

she even defends the need for people to be able to carry a firearm to protect ourselves. she states all the killings are in democratic/GOP areas where guns are forbidden because criminals KNOW that the populace are unarmed and easy prey. the top video link is her in 1992 in front of congress in Texas or DC and she states, " the 2nd ammendment is about protecting ourselves from our own government." she was mad because her legislatures in Texas didn't allow her to carry her firearm in her purse when she could have saved her parents lives.

suspect has attempted suicide, no word on if it was successful or not

Reports, still has a pulse

Cnn just brought up a good point. Many of these shootings occur with the shooter trying to get glorified and one up others..could that be true, could that be why he posted this all online? sickening

WDBJ7 livestream is now reporting that Williams took his life.

Anyway, feel real bad for the victims, their family/friends and WDBJ.  I cannot imagine how hard it is for them to continue being on the air after two of their friends were killed while they watched.

Vicki Gardner (the lady they were interviewing) was also injured, underwent emergency surgery and is in stable condition.

They just said he has a "weak pulse" and in critical condition

Just another loser with a gun. We have about the same percentage of losers here in the USA as other countries, but since guns are so easy to obtain, these senseless shootings are more of less a daily occurrence.

apparently the shooter had a habit of creating race issues, sued his former station for it before coming to this one and tried to do the same thing but was denied this time by the state employment commission

Parts of his manefesto from abc, he apparently wanted to make this a news story.

http://abcnews.go.com/US/shooting-alleged-gunman-details-grievances-suicide-notes/story?id=33336339

A man claiming to be Bryce Williams called ABC News over the last few weeks, saying he wanted to pitch a story, and wanted to fax information. He never told ABC News what the story was.

This morning, a fax was in the machine (time stamped 8:26 a.m.) almost two hours after the shooting. A little after 10 a.m., he called again, and introduced himself as Bryce, but also said his legal name was Vester Lee Flanagan, and that he shot two people this morning. While on the phone, he said authorities are “after me,” and “all over the place.” He hung up. ABC News contacted the authorities immediately and provided them with the fax.

In the 23-page document faxed to ABC News, the writer says “MY NAME IS BRYCE WILLIAMS” and his legal name is Vester Lee Flanagan II.” He writes what triggered today’s carnage was his reaction to the racism of the Charleston church shooting:

“Why did I do it? I put down a deposit for a gun on 6/19/15. The Church shooting in Charleston happened on 6/17/15…”

“What sent me over the top was the church shooting. And my hollow point bullets have the victims’ initials on them."

It is unclear whose initials he is referring to. He continues, “As for Dylann Roof? You (deleted)! You want a race war (deleted)? BRING IT THEN YOU WHITE …(deleted)!!!” He said Jehovah spoke to him, telling him to act.

Later in the manifesto, the writer quotes the Virginia Tech mass killer, Seung Hui Cho, calls him “his boy,” and expresses admiration for the Columbine High School killers. “Also, I was influenced by Seung–Hui Cho. That’s my boy right there. He got NEARLY double the amount that Eric Harrisand Dylann Klebold got…just sayin.'"

In an often rambling letter to the authorities, and family and friends, he writes of a long list of grievances. In one part of the document, Williams calls it a “Suicide Note for Friends and Family."

  • He says has suffered racial discrimination, sexual harassment and bullying at work
  • He says he has been attacked by black men and white females
  • He talks about how he was attacked for being a gay, black man

“Yes, it will sound like I am angry...I am. And I have every right to be. But when I leave this Earth, the only emotion I want to feel is peace....”

“The church shooting was the tipping point…but my anger has been building steadily...I’ve been a human powder keg for a while…just waiting to go BOOM!!!!”

I went to school in Moneta, VA, just down the road from Bridgewater Plaza. I even grew up at Smith Mountain Lake. I now live between Roanoke and Moneta and am very close to the WDBJ7 family. This is absolutely devastating to us all. There isn't someone in the area that doesn't know someone at WDBJ7 because they had such a public presence.

My mom is close to the third person, Vicki, who was also shot. We're still all in shock. Such a sad day here in the Star City :(

I've never seen a video quite like that one.

Im concerned others will follow suit with something similar type shootings considering this is a first video of it's kind really and there are people out there that like to copy these types of events.

Copycats are always a risk.

And so are our failed legal and mental health systems. Before the PC'ers had their way WRT involuntary committals people who exhibited multiple episodes of acting out in anger (as he did) could be detained and committed for diagnosis and treatment.

That changed as civil libertarians demanded outpatient treatment and rare committal. We ended up with the mentally ill in prisons, as a majority o# the street homless and more spree killers. Well, that hasn't worked out very well has it? Time for the pendulum to swing back.

In his case when he was fired from another station it had to be evacuated and he was removed with a police escort. HELLO, major red flag!

So sorry that you and your region is going through this senseless tragedy.  :(

That crew did a remarkable job, continuing on even after the event happened.

The sad part is that this guy thought everyone was out to hate him, to the point that he snapped. A great quote came to mind when I read about that.

You ever hear of the saying "you run into an ###### in the morning, you ran into an ######; you run into ###### all day, you're the ######." -Raylan

I just wish people would seek help when they are feeling like they are getting ready to snap, and if others around would do the same to help. Its not easy, but I've had to help friends like this before.

I completely agree. This guy clearly had some issues. The problem is, we have such a negative stigma (although it is changing) on mental health. If you go see someone for help, it means you're weak. Obviously that's not true, but I think for a lot of people, specifically guys, that is the way it is viewed. So they try to burry the issues they have until they fester and then one day that volcano erupts.

The biggest problem in almost all of these shootings where mental health plays a factor is, how do you help someone who doesn't want to be helped? One of the leaked memos from one of the stations this guy worked at (don't recall which station) told him to seek medical help (I assume they mean mental health help). And then we have the legal side of things. How far do we want government going? What proof is required to force someone to get the help they need? It isn't an easy situation and sadly I'm not sure there's a right answer that even remotely come close to solving this massive problem.

I look at mental instability help the same as drug addiction. Its tough to seek help on your own, you need friends and family to help.

One of my good friends just wrote this article on gawker about men who kill like this due to rejection dont have emotional literacy.
