Twisted.Raven
I'm thinking about giving my 3 year old PC a refresh in the next month or so and would like some comments / suggestions on the build I'm thinking about. My current specs are: Processor: Intel Core i7-3770K Ivy Bridge Cooler: Noctua NH-D14 120mm & 140mm SSO CPU Cooler Motherboard: Asus Sabertooth Z77 Memory: G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 1866 x2 SSD: SAMSUNG 830 Series MZ-7PC256D/AM 2.5" 256GB Power Supply: CORSAIR HX Series HX750 Graphics Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 690 Case: Corsair Vengeance C70 Mid-Tower Gaming Case - Arctic White Storage: 2 x 2GB Hard Drives I'll be keeping the Case, SSD, 2 storage drives and the power supply. New components: Processor: Intel Core i7-5820K Haswell-E 6-Core 3.3GHz LGA 2011-v3 140W BX80648I75820K Motherboard EVGA X99 Classified (151-HE-E999-KR) LGA 2011-v3 Intel X99 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Extended ATX Memory: CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 16GB (4 x 4GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3000 (PC4-24000) Graphics Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti My biggest concern is if the jump from the GTX 690 to the GTX 980Ti is enough to warrant an upgrade or hold out. The 4GB ram on the 690 is a little limiting when it comes to playing GTA V with the settings I'd like. Suggestions welcome!
