Photo picker to attach images to message apps fixed in new Windows 10 Mobile builds

Later today we will learn what Microsoft has in store for consumers with their new flagships for Windows 10 Mobile, the Lumia 950 and 950 XL. All but an official announcement and pricing is yet to be revealed about those devices; but Windows Insiders will also be looking forward to possibly new builds of Windows 10 for PC and mobile being released as well.

Earlier today Gabe Aul revealed that a common problem with the photos library in Windows 10 Mobile has been fixed in later builds. It applies to the behavior of the picker when trying to attach an image to a message app like WhatsApp or Skype, which frequently crashes while attempting to do so. This also applies to other apps throughout the OS supported by the sharing picker.

The sharing 'picker' for Windows 10 Mobile

Windows 10 Mobile is advancing, albeit for Windows Insiders at a much slower pace than internal testers at Microsoft, the last build that was released to testers was three weeks ago last Monday, with Microsoft saying last week that it had no plans to release a newer build before today.

However, the good news is that the picker will no longer crash in the next build that will roll out to Windows Insiders. If that happens today is anyone's guess, but with Gabe Aul not attending the event in New York, it's possible he will manage Windows Insider rollouts for PC and mobile at Redmond today.
