Microsoft announces Continuum for phones, brings desktop functionality to mobile

Microsoft is bringing desktop functionality to mobile phones using Continuum for phones. The feature allows you to connect your mobile device to a larger screen and use it like a PC.

By connecting the phone to a monitor using a USB connector relay, you can use Universal Apps through your phone with their desktop layout. Microsoft's rep came on stage and demoed the Lumia 950 family allowing him to edit PowerPoint and Word files on a large screen, with the Start Menu, almost entirely mimicking the experience on a desktop.

The connector also features HDMI output and allows you to connect external USB storage, making you even more productive and use your phone just like a desktop PC.
