This is a reminder that there are consequences for western countries that meddle in the Middle East. It has to be pointed out that France has been a major player in the War on Terror and has been conducting air strikes in Syria - this attack is a sad but predictable outcome. This is why it concerns me greatly that the UK is still talking up the possibility of military action in Syria, as we risk similar attacks. Victory is not a possible outcome. Rather than assassinating alleged IS fighters with drone strikes we should be capturing them and trying them in an international criminal court. We cannot sink to their level. Unfortunately what we'll see is western governments doubling down, promising to increase their military involvement. It will play right into the hands of the IS.
