Do you guys have any ideea how can I enable Samsung 840 SSD hardware encryption from Windows 10 ?

I have an UEFI system with Secure Boot enabled without CSM.

You should make a drive image before running Bitlocker on Windows 10 Pro, just in case. It's pretty straightforward. Keep a spare key offsite as a backup. We use USB flash drives to save the keys to. Just plug it in before booting.

samsung magician has options to enable encryption

I came across these options in magician the other day, what are the downsides to enabling encryption, will it cause a noticable performance dip?

My understanding is that if the SSD supports it you can enable bitlocker with very little performance overhead. Anandtech did an article on it back when Windows 8 came out. If it doesn't support it then there will be a performance hit in benchmarks at least. idk if that translates to real world slowdowns or not.
