n_K
If you had the hardware, you could in theory remove the RAM/ROM, hook up a game-genie like device (memory analyser) and monitor what memory is written/read, then either save the whole state of the memory or find out which part corrisponds to the number of entries tried and just keep restoring the state if you fail to enter the key until you manage to get the right key. That would effect any OS. The alternative is to find an exploit that means you wouldn't need the key, depends on the OS code and again is possible on any device. Windows phone isn't cared about by the FBI because it relies on secure boot, a system which has been completely defeated multiple times and allowed full access to the root filesystem of the phone. goretsky Supervisor Posted April 27, 2016 Supervisor Share Posted April 27, 2016 Hello, Which Android operating system? Android is not a single operating system which runs on a few models of devices from one manufacturer. Each phone manufacturer customizes the OS, and then each carrier may provide additional customizations. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
