Dan~
The other day I wasn't thinking right and accidentally selected "replace all inherited permissions..." for some reason I pressed yes Turns out I now think I've removed all previous manual permissions that were added previously but still not confirmed yet. Either way if I messed up how do I get it back to where it was on Thursday as such? It's only a folder with loads of sub folders and many security groups eej

LaraBoft
I don't think that's possible because you overruled all permissions from the group above.

It's only a folder with loads of sub folders and many security groups eej you dont by any chance have shadow copy running on the share do you? (VSS) if so rename the original and restore the share, it should also restore the ACLs from the snapshot. Failing that i personally would be looking at either recreating the ACLS or restore from your backups (ensuring you restore with perms enabled)
