Morisato
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371018 this is my current PSU (yes, I know, it's old). Is it capable with GTX 1070/1080? The GPU box it says it needs a minimum 500w PSU with a minimum 12v current rating of 42a + 1*8 pin connector. It says Quadruple rail design for a total of 65A (780W) on +12V. If it isn't, which PSU would you recommend?

Morisato
Hmm I guess my next question would be, since this is a traditional muti-rail system, does it require connectors to multiple 12v on the PSU or will intelligently combine the rails when needed through 1*8 pin connector? (so use either 1x6 and 1x8 or 2x8 if thats what the 10 series use.)
Morisato
Thanks Mando. For some reason I kept thinking PCI-E cables came in as multiple paired connectors like molex cables instead of a single connector for each cable (haven't done this in awhile). Andre S. Veteran Posted August 23, 2016 Veteran Share Posted August 23, 2016 Yeah power requirements are going down rather than up on new generation cards. So much for the "future-proofing" argument people used to justify 1200W+ PSUs just a few years ago. Jim K and Jub 2 Share
