Codex Regius
Ever since I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 I am suffering this problem: Many apps refuse to open the Explorer window when receiving a "File open" or "Save as" command and would just freeze. Some apps may work normally after I have closed and restarted them (until I reboot Windows, then the trouble starts all over again), with others, the problem persists. It appears both with apps installed before or after installing Win 10. Observations: - It is possible to launch the File Explorer from Windows, and it operates normally. The problem never occurs with the "Save" command. - The affected apps leave no entry in the event manager. - There is no malware/virus found, installing the anti-malware app has not helped. - Changing settings in File Explorer has not helped. - sfc /scannow claims everything was fine with Win 10. - CCleaner does not help. - Installing Win 10 updates has not helped. - Deleting and reinstalling an affected app does not help. - Rebooting Windows does not help. - Clean Boot does not help. - System Restore is undesirable because the problem exists from the moment of upgrading to Windows 10. I believe there is a major malfunction in Windows 10's File Explorer. Can anyone suggest a workaround until ... one day ... the guys at Microsoft's learn programming?
