why suddenly my computer takes so long to start/restart/shut down?

here's the story.

i have geforce 2 mx and installed drivers 23.11. then i check the windowsupdate page and it says that i can download update for my gf2mx. and i did. download succesfully, but when he tried to autosetup it said that it was an error setup-ing that stuff and i tried again and again and it didn't work. and i said oh well.. not so important anyways.

then my g2mx screwed something and after f****ing with it for almost half day it works properly now.... BUT....

why the heck when i start my computer after boot screen is taking almost a minute to show login screen? newer did that before. what to do?

and here is another thing that don't depend on my card...

it's the shut down time. it takes around 3-5 minutes that my computer shuts down properly. HOW COME? is there any progie which logs what apps running in background couldn't be closed?

how to speed up my shut down time again??? in the begining it was maximum 10 seconds...

please please help,

i want my winxp to work again!

thank you very much

Try using one of the leaked 27.xx drivers, my pc used to take a very long time to shut down windows xp but the recent leaked nvidia drivers has made my shutdown time a lot shorter.
