Page Fault in Nonpaged Area?

Recommended Posts

Anyone know what the heck causes that critical error? It's been happening every so often on XP. Just using AIM or closing an IE window I would get a BSOD and it would say "Page fault in nonpaged area".. I hate it.

Check your ram, there are some ram testing applications, search on Google. If you happen to have some extra ram swap out the sticks until you find the bad one, or remove one until you find the bad one. If you have one you might want to get a new one.

Easiest way is to use a ram checker, it will tell you what you need to know.

Go HERE for a Great reference on ALL Stop error messages in XP. Your specific error message can be addressed HERE

Your specific message doe snot necessarily mean BAD ram. I have gotten that error before and it was NOT realted to RAM. But hopefully the links I gave you will help you troubleshoot your problem.
