I need help running a DOS utility, in NTFS file system...

Recommended Posts

I need to run this flash utility for my Video card. It has to be run from the Hard Drive(i tried of the floppy, with a Win98 boot disk, and i got errors). Is there an equivelant XP boot disk, that would give me access to my drives?(DOS prompt). 98 Bootdisk cannot access NTFS drives....

I tried the console thing, but it will only allow me inside the c:windows directory, everything else give me an "access denied"

Any ideas on how I can do this guys/gals?

TIA

Make a directory UNDER c:windows (c:windowsVID before exiting out of windows), put the files there ... then use the Repair Console.

To change directories in the repair console you type cdwindowsVID (not cd temp you must use the FULL path). This works because that is how I replaced the "hacked" explorer.exe (changed the "start" text).
