New "urgent" Msn Virus Fix.

Recommended Posts

from the experience i've got, i've found that removing c:program filesmessenger and hkey_local_machinesoftwaremicrosoftmessengerservice and hkey_current_usersoftwaremicrosoftmessengerservice, then going to messenger.msn.com and redownloading fixes it.

i figure it works because i set my name to "don't go to any urgent urls i've sent you, and tell me if i send any. it's a virus" and i haven't recieved anything.

Yea its not a virus. Its a security flaw with IE and Messenger. Theres a patch available for IE and the next version of Messenger due out in the next couple day is supposed to fix the problem.

For more information:

If you clicked the link, don't worry, you'll be OK

PS I'm closing this thread because a similar one is unfolding in General Discussion.
