Boot Error

Recommended Posts

in the root of C:

you'll find a file thats HIDDEN and possibly protected

using the folder options, unhide an unprotect your system files

edit your boot.ini to make sure its in proper order, once your boot.ini is correct, hopefully this routine windows is performing will go away.

my file is old too.. its only modified when i first installed windows, otherwise its just sitting there

change that to BOOT.INI, then modify the file, you probably don't have a Tab in Msconfig, because windows can't properly find a vaild boot.ini file.

sooooooooooo what do you do

MAKE ONE!

here's the correct setup for... having windows xp on the Primary Master. or C:

below is the script. if you have only xp on your pc, and its on C:, then this file will work, copy , paste it name the file boot.ini, and stick it in the system root of C: and restart .

[boot loader]

timeout=30

default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)WINDOWS

[operating systems]

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)WINDOWS="Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect

Modifying Boot.ini

hope this ends this thread :)
