Case in example, http://my.opera.com/community/graphics/pro...mplythebest.gif Just need clarification on the difference between an "ad" and an "opinion"... I think we are just complaining about the pay-per-click links. I don't think they have any place at Neowin unless they go towards paying the Neowin bills. Example: Homer's webhosting ad in his sig didnt earn him per-click but he got money from the people who took up his hosting. So Opera would be fine. Some people put their stats in their sigs so when they have a problem, they don't need to post the things over and over. I don't do it because I think it is stupid, and I have 3 different computers that I use, plus any number of computers that I am working on and having a problem with. Im running a 667 or something without the case cover on it due to heat problems i have alot of ****ty ram a 20 gig harddrive, and a pci videocard... allthough i have a really fast cd burner.. This is totally unacceptable at Neowin, your sig is not an area to advertise products or services, we require ad companies to pay to advertise on neowin so that we may pay the costs of our server. I find it unacceptable and disrespectful that members induce further intrusion and distraction by turning pages into semi-ads. The fact that its gotten out of hand means we are now taking action to completely remove this form of advertising. Neowin has options to sell ad banner space you can contact redmak@neowin.net for a quote (serious requests only!) Let it also be noted that members who disregard this moderation will lose the rights to edit their profile and possibly face more restrictions.
