Longhorn Systray Clock

Recommended Posts

This is one of my favorite apps in Windows, yes it is strange that all it does is change the appearance of the clock (and provide a calendar which is pretty limited).

I wish this was still being developed, but this does work just fine, it does everything I could want it too

Thanks for this very useful piece of software, I've been using it happily so much it's a sure install on all of my pcs.

A question: any chance that will be added a sinchronization feature with google Calendar? all in all, it's just iCal :))

thanks

I don't think that tone is very appropriate Deavy. I hope that you were being sarcastic or joking. Many of us have contacted RCube about the source code, and he hasn't gotten around to answering any of us. This does not mean that he is violating any licenses, he is just busy, as he has stated repeatedly.

The man hasnt posted ANYTHING on Neowin since August 4th 2006!

He has stated repeatedly that he is more than willing to share the code, and I'm sure if he were around, he would. I have followed this project since it's initial release, and I just as much as anyone would love to see it continue. Unfortunately people get busy with Life sometimes.

Just try to be patient.

Hasn't this piece of software been taken in as a Neowin community application (or something like that)?

The Neowin membership rules state that:

"You agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or by this bulletin board."

So, knowing that the LClock is GPL'd (and possibly under the wing of Neowin to some extent), couldn't someone who has the source code, post it so that we all can benefit, instead of waiting for RCube to respond?

Could it not also be entered as a project on a site like Sourceforge?

...Just my thoughts

It never became a Neowin community application. Sourceforge would be up to RCube. As far as I know, he's the only one with the code so far, so its all on him.

It works (sortof) on Vista. The only problem I've had is that I can't adjust LClock's properties because Windows' Data Execution Prevention keeps shutting down the rundll32.

Edit, you can still configure the clock thru its .ini file though. Still haven't found a way to get around that problem of the rundll32 being shut down by Window's DEP.
