I need help intergrating vb with phpnuke and how did neowin get phpnuke to look so good?!?!?!...I can't figure it out,I tried,and I tried,my brain is gonna explode:dead: !!!like I told tingle,I'm not trying to steal neowin's theme nor am I trying to get him to give it to me for absolutely free...but As you probably know,yea I asked Tingle for the neowin script,and yea he refused,but I know he built his script off of phpnuke.Can some of ya'll plz gimme tips,codes,and/or scripts that help aid me in making a similar script like neowin's off of phpnuke and help me intergrate it with vb?!?!? :( , the ppl over at vb isn't much help,they're all too damn lazy and selfish to share their scripts and stuff even after I bought the darned board!!!....no wonder ppl look for warez versions and stuff,but anyways....HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!...

Uh. calm down there...

First off, neowin is NOT runing on phpnuke. It never has, and it never will. Tingle made his own custom script FROM SCRATCH. So, stop emailing tingle looking like a little boy and calm the f uck down.

Secondly, LEARN PHP FIRST. You'll never get anywhere without knowing the language. Read through the manuals, read some tutorials, and you'll get it eventually.

Finally, post more specific data then "I can't combine two separate things. Help!". I don't have any clue as to what your problems have been and don't even know where to start explaining how to fix them.

Indeed, no phpnuke ... it's all custom

www.vbulletin.org has loads of mods for vbulletin. They have everything there to make a complete website with all bells and whistles.

LEARN PHP FIRST: agreed. You need to know at least some php to be able to implement the mods from vbulletin.org (or is you want to change stuff to the script so it fits your needs)

ps. I do get all the help I need at vbulletin.com and vbulletin.org. Maybe it's the way you ask it :p

Oh,guess I better shut up.I just assumed that tingle built of phpnuke because of some of the simularities in his script and theirs,I'm gonna quit asking him and just wait till he releases his script and buy it like he said :) ...you guys were partially right about me not getting help at vb site,reason being that I forgot to enter my vb info into there systems.Well,it's done now and they're finally helping me :p ,thanx again...

BTW I'd still appreciate it if some of you php wizards would consider helping a n00b,well not totally new to this php stuff..but I'm still a bit unclear of this coding and stuff.I'm tired of sitting up 12 and 13 hours reading php books,testing scripts,and staring at the moniter all day,but I guess there's no better way to learn alot then failing a little....

First of all no good sites are made with PHPNuke. Your best bet is to learn PHP first, it shoudnt take more than 4 months to be able to make your own custom portal site. Neowin.net does not use PHPnuke though, they uses to use GrayMatter ( http://noahgrey.com/greysoft/ ). Btw, most visitors to my sites think I use PHPNuke, I hate it when they think that! :D .

oh,I see,so tingle just used greymatter as a starting point then learned php to customize it to it's fullest...maybe I should do the same,I'm not that far off from learning php,I've mastered most of the basics,anywho thanx guys...

suppose i should step in here lol, everyone here is right, the neowin script was built from scratch, around vbb, all it does is uses the user table so that people dont have to register twice etc. We used to use greymatter, then neobond and redmak decided they didnt like it, asked for help making a new script, so i offered and together we have eventually got what we have now.

I do have plans for it, but i got no idea on the time scale for it, basically i dont want to announce something,t hen change my ideas, or have any pressure on me, so no info whatsoever really :D

As for integrating with vbb, i only know of vbportal, but im pretty sure someone will have wrote something for phpnuke/vbb

But the best thing of course is to learn php and make one of your own (i have been doing stuff in php for about a year only)

man,tingle you are the man...lol.I'm so jealous,I can't figure none of this stuff out...Is there any possible way you could type a short tutorial on how to use the user table thingy in php scripts...cos it'll be cool if I could get my users to only have to register once for the site and boards.Maybe if you feel like it :ponder: ,you can make a tutorial on how to do the thing where the vb posts and stuff sow up on the main page...or how to get the emoticons and comment thing to work from vb with your news script...or how to.......well you get the idea...WE NEED A TINGLE VB TUTORIAL ver. 1.0 lol :) ,you'd own then...maybe you can get the head admin to open a tutorial section on the neowin forum so we can get help or something..... :) ,anywho thanks for the help you offered so for...we just wanna be kick ass like neowin's site...

my time is basically all taken up at the moment with school work, my job and doing this script. I got major exams coming up soon and i actually need to do some work for once, so unfortuantly i cannot really take on anything else than what im doing

I will be providing help for the script i eventually do, but its all in the future lol
