Don?t let your account freeze up!

Did you know that if your account goes over the 2MB storage limit, it will automatically be frozen? That means:

You won?t be able to send any messages

All e-mails sent to you will bounce back without notification

Your account will stay frozen until you delete enough e-mail to put you under the 2MB limit. Then, you'll need to keep monitoring it to make sure you stay well under the limit.

The better option is to sign up for MSN? Extra Storage. For only $19.95* per year (less than $2 a month) MSN Extra Storage gives you 10MB of storage ? five times what you?re getting today. It's the easiest way to avoid a frozen account.

lol.. guess that only 10mb didnt work as they expected.... dont they get enough money from advertisements, they ar starting to walk the same road aol did...

if it wasnt for msn messenger i probably wouldnt even visit any page containing *msn*

I've had my main hotmail account for the last few years and to be honest I can't really grumble... after all it is free.

Up until very recently I never got any spam, now a bit does get through, but only a bit.

Even with the recent outages and sign in problems, it's still my main personal account although I use others for stuff that HAS to get through.

C'mon guys... it is free after all, plus it does integrate fairly well with the best IM client (Trillian excluded :p ) as hated said.

I concur with all of you guys saying that Hotmail is crap. Right after I got my hands on DSL, I dropped my Hotmail account because it contains so much stuff from the institutions I deprecate of (porn and advertising). Now, my emails are those from (A) Sources that I opted-in for, and (B) People I know

theres plenty of other places you can get e-mail accounts in

one of my funny favorites is

(your_name_here)@****you.co.uk (5mb storage)

http://www.****you.co.uk

:D

and yes that http://www.mail.com offers personalized e-mails not just @hotmial. something like @mad.scientist.com or @engineer/doctor/lawyer/computer.geek.com etc etc

ive never had freeze problems with hotmail. not even when i went to vacation for 2 months (checked in every 20 some odd days so the account wouldnt cancel). I still have the same account i started with when i first got my internet (7 years ago). and have e-mail still in my inbox from then.

yeesh some people just dont know how to manage 2 meesly mb.

just a tip or two:

block your junkmail (hotmail wont count it when u recieve crap)

if u dont like hit google and type in free online e-mail. go find soemthing you like.

/edit

aparently neowin does not allow the "f" word so wherever you see **** assume it is that word that neowin does not allow, is 4 letters and starts with "f":ermm:

I just ignore those emails from the Hotmail staff....:D As far as the size limit, I use Outlook Express and Outlook XP to view my mail, so nothing ever stays on the server. My account(s) alwasy stay nice and empty...plus I never recieve any junk mail...that helps....:D
