iTools question

Recommended Posts

Ok.. here's a question for you.. its in the general section and not the mac section becuase the question is aimed towards both windows and mac users so mods, please dont move!...

there used to be a way that you could sign up for itools on windows or mac os 8 and earlier without installing the itools, using a direct signup link. but apple seems to have removed the option to do so (and i'm too late now!).. so ... i need your help in finding a way to sign up for a @mac.com e-mail account and iDisk:

my current needs are

1) i have access to a mac with os 9, but i'm not allowed to install anything on it. so i need a way to sign up for itools without installing the itools plugin

2) i need a way to signup using just regular windows...

is this possible?

1) i dont think so (so i've heard so far)

2)and you need mac os to sign up :(, it sucks i know, but thats how the system works i guess...but i think theres probably a way to use @mac.com mail on outlook/oe for windows if u get the settings n stuff from a mac n write it down n set it up on windows....but havent tried it out yet so not sure

If u manage it, you can use Your Mac.Com email, and iDisk, easily... Almost Like you would on the Mac! ... i Do...! It's Great! ... But i Don't think u're'll be able 2 Get it, without signing up, on a Mac!

Why Not use Some1 else's Mac, 2 Signup...And then u just Connect From u're PC? ... i have All tha Info For email and iDisk U'd Need?!

yep.. but they're damn nice. not the cheap POS mac things.. except for the fact that we're not allowed to install... although the school gave my friend a mac to use, on which he installed macos x... i might talk him into letting me use it.

u better be really nice to him lol

our school has the cheap stuff that'dd be worth like $100 now ($2000-$3000 back then 4 years ago) lol

we have mac os 8.6 n it sucks, but i get bored alot lately so i install ie 5.1 n wmp7.1 (cuz its in the mode that i can install stuff in the library) lol, but administrators do lotsa stuff to accounts so that u cant install anything on it unless u have privileges, our comp teacher has a kinda new mac tho, too bad they have a crappy selection in software:dead: ...netscape 4.7, appleworks 5, mac os 8.6...n not ie 5/oe 5, word 2001 for mac, and mac os 9.0
