My Website...

Question

Hi, I've been slowly tweaking my site up and now have got it to a stage where I would like some some input from you guys.

My website is @ http://www.uniquetouch.co.uk

I have just added my new logo but am very unsure about it.

Here's the idea that I had for logos....

Opinions please.....

1.

2.

3.

sonypic4.jpg

I am using this last one at the moment (but I have made the hand slighly more lighter).

Please tell me if there is anything you feel I could do to make the site better.

Many many thanks.

ok, any site that expands to kill all available desktop space needs help.

The site looks nice, but kill the auto-full size business; that's super annoying.

I am very critical and have high standards.... That said...

I do not like the blue color scheme, especially if you are going for a pro look. If you really like the look, which I don't, I would go with number 3 and move the hand behind "unique touch".

But I really think you should think of something more clever for that hand, like maybe a hand placing a letter in the words, and the letter woudn't be straight to show its action....

Shrug

you want comments i have so comments.... :p

basically there are a few things that you could change to make it more professional. the scrolling title bar and status bar aren't a good look... looks like your trying to hide the links people click on... like a warez site.. umm the white background on your log doesn't fit in with the rest on your site.

Sorry, but this page needs a lot of work.

First off, lose the javascripts. Those are for people who don't have actual content and want to trick users into thinking their site is "cool" (but ultimately fail)

Secondly, you need a consistant color scheme. I don't care what it is, things just need to be similiar along the page

Next, the right bar is totally out of place. It throws the centering of the page to the right and messes up the natural flow of reading..

Last, lose the frames. They are totally unneccessary for this site with this particular layout and tend to mess things up on lower resolutions...

I like the current logo I'm seeing with the #3 look without a blue hand. Much less freaky... :D

Get to work, then I'll say it's good ;)

Thanks for the replies guys.

I changed the color of the hand now.

Check out the site to see it.

The links on the rifht hand side ar the the last 10 posts from my forum.

That frame is in PHP. When you click on alink it loads it into that frame instead of a new page.

Anyone know what the PHP equivalent to target="_blank" is???

Cheers

Read what the guys above said, they were spot on target, the site has too many gimics at the mo, lose the scrolling title bar, perhaps just keep the scrolling status bar. Also, i don't really think the colour scheme fits, you havent made it consistent across the layout, if you're going to have blue then make the whole thing with a blue theme, if not then stick to white. personally i think if you got rid of the blue on either side it would look much better str8 off. You gotta pick a particular colour scheme and stick to it, the orange text in the menu but then blue text in the main page really doesnt go, and i dunno wot colour the scrollbar's supposed to be! And PLEASE get rid of the sound!

Sorry if i've been overly critical :s Those criteria are how i design my sites.

Your site will crash and burn if a customer sees that it auto-expands to full screen. It never ceases to amaze me how good designers miss the basics. Go read Web Design - In A Nutshell it is for beginners but it discusses design issues designers overlook too often. Oh, and check out http://www.webpagesthatsuck.com too.

OK, one thing (complaint) about your site. I dont like sites that change the size of my windows and stuff. It is an annoyance. Do something else, not making the window size change
