Neowin Forum Updates *Programmers Needed*

KlipInfo is a XML type based program which enables it to give headlines from a particular page, it also has support for giving the latest news from Slashdot or the Register, can someone make a plug in for Neowin? so that i dont need to open my browser instead i can get the latest on this

unless the people at neowin generate the file that that app reads dynamically on the server someone will get very tired of typing stuff out :p

yes so can someone request the neowin owners to do this and here is another big example

the file you haev to edit in the development kit is really small. 1.2 Kb to be exact, you just have to fill in the blanks in that file, so ppl with some XML knowledge should try and the extention Should be .klip

Yeah, neowin.com just needs to generate a proper RDF file. Creating an appropriate *.klip file is like two minutes.

First there needs to be a RDF File, without that there could be neither testing, nor would I have an appropriate RDF URL to fill into the *.klip ;)

looks like he parsed the archive.php pages to an RDF XML stream... Hmm...sly ******* ;) Kinda like my Stile Filter that I made (filters the ads from the stile project page :D :D :D but is kinda broken right now :( )

I could probably code that pretty easily... :D

The food file isn't updated real time yet. There's a small test program which updates the file.

All I have to do is add the test code to the script, I may do that today. If not then this weekend.

I'm not sure I want all categories separate, have to think about that and see how neobond feels about the whole thing.

I'll have to do the forum one separate because the format for that page is completely different.

Note: This is all running through my machine, so there is a delay as I query for neowin's archive page and then the file is sent back to your machine. It's kinda roundabout until Redmak does his thing... :D :D :D

Edit: Also, notice the time between my posts and the fact this thing _may_ be buggy... :p

the posts of main page are set to max, there are 70 showing, could load faster if they were 10-20..but gooood :D thanks waiting for redmaks version as well

I'll work on that... Right now it's just simply grabbing from the archive page and parsing out the links and headlines (source code now up too...)

I'll have to figure out a limiter of sorts, but Klip doesn't give you that many options....

They work great! Any chance you could give us your source code? I'd like to be able to host them on my webserver (<10ms ping is nice).
