Hey, there's my picture! Since I've taken that picture, I've moved that desk and the Macs are sitting in the floor because I don't use them nearly enough. :(

why did you get ride of the Mac Pro? I'd imagine it be a lot faster than the iMac.

Not to hijack the thread, but yea, the Mac Pro was a 2008 model. I was cautious too buying this, even made a thread in this forum. But will tell you this, first 2min of using the thing, could EASILY tell a huge speed diff. Just felt drastically snappier, and the graphics is 10x better than what I had. Plus 1 cable vs 5000

Ah thanks for telling me! I was eying the A2 too since they take up a lot less room, but if they really need that ?350 sub I'll probably go with the A5+. At first I thought about getting the black ones but after seeing your photo the white version looks a lot nicer in combination with Apple hardware. :)

My new 27-inch iMac with Fusion Drive. Ordered an additional 8 GB of memory from Crucial. The one on the left had a poorly installed LCD panel and suffered from extensive backlight bleeding. Returned it to Apple.

Need to sort out the cable management and I will replace the MBP with a Mac mini some time later. But it'll do it's job for now.

I just recently sold my 10 month old PC, and purchased a MacBook Pro mid-2012. Loaded it with the 2.9Ghz core i7, 750GB HDD (Now currently running a 120GB SSD), and 8GB of RAM.

And this is my happy space:

Bought a Macbook Pro w/ Retina Display

And got a little nature on my desk now

Very excited to say I'm a Mac owner again :)

I've been running Mountain Lion on my PC as a Hackintosh since about January. In the same time my interest for gaming has subsided quite considerably and I began to give thoughts to downsizing to an Apple notebook for several reasons:

* Space reclaimed from big PC ATX tower

* Power and noise reduction

* Running on Apple hardware means no worries or delays when a new major or minor OSX release comes out

* With getting a laptop, means I can take my only computer to friends or parents easily / conveniently

I was holding out for the Macbook Pro Haswell refresh into September, having promised most of my old PC to a friend who needed it by the start of October. I finally gave up and with some reservations, decided to go for an Air - I just felt it represented better value for money than the current Pro's (especially given the speed of the SSD, in the current Air). So I ordered the following last week:

11" Air

Core i7 CPU

8GB RAM

512GB SSD

It arrived today and I'm just in the process of moving all my data over, getting apps installed, etc. Thrilled with how quick it is, and also slightly weirded out by the silence compared to having a normal PC with fans and spinning disks installed. Will take some getting used to I think! I also managed to pick up a mid 2000's 23" Apple Cinema display earlier this week - came supplied with no power supply, but managed to score one on eBay just in time to get the whole lot setup this evening. So my desk has gone from a lot of black metal and plastic, to a lot of shiny aluminium :)

I hope to be a more regular participant on the Apple forums here now! Will try get a picture of the setup once it's all organised / tidied!

Cheers.

I've kind of updated my setup a bit since I last posted here.

Specs:

15" MacBook Pro with Retina Display (mid 2012) - 2.6GHz i7, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD

27" iMac (mid 2011) - 3.4GHz i7, 32GB RAM, 2 x 128GB Samsung 840 Pros in Raid 0 + 3TB Drive

iMac is my main machine, and is hooked up to a Dell U2412M monitor, and a Saffire 6 sound card (which is attached via an amp to the Q Accoustics on the bookshelf). It's also connected (via the network) to the B&O BeoPlay A8 on the HiFi rack (Saffire is for when I'm mixing, A8 is for listening - that thing has some serious bass!). The HiFi rack (top to bottom) contains BeoPlay A8, Xbox 360, PS3, Virgin Box, Wii U, Apple TV and a Pioneer VSX-922 receiver. There's a network switch hidden in there somewhere too! All that's fed to the TV on the wall just around the corner.

The desk is a GeoGlass Smoked desk - it's just one piece of bent black glass. Looks nice but it's a bugger to keep clean, and cable management on a desk which is nothing but a sheet of glass was horiffic! http://www.geoglass.co.uk/shop/view/3_Geo-Glass_Large_Smoked_Desk

Pics (apologies for the photos - lighting wasn't great!):

I rejoined the Mac Users flock in June:

Macbook Air 13.3" 2013 spec

Core i5@1.3 GHz

4 GB RAM

256 GB SSD

OS X 10.8 (to be upgraded to 10.9 as soon as it reaches GA)

Insane battery life.Apple's claims of up to 12 h on battery were no exaggeration.
