Need Logo for New Site

I am looking for someone to create a new logo for a web site that I will be creating in the near future. The site is called "WinHangar" (basically meaning a place to hang out for Windows' fans). The location of this site will be "http://www.winhangar.com". Don't bother going there yet for as there is nothing there. :)

This web site we will be feature news, forums, and etc. I may also be offering hosting and e-mail in the future.

I am looking for a logo that can be described in two words:

cool and wicked

In otherwords, when you see the logo, I want the user to :woot: *grin*

I would like a logo that has cool colors and a nice font for any text. The logo should be some type of image that we can use next to names/tables and on business cards (if I ever make any). Since the logo will be created first, the theme of the web site will be created based on the logo (and I will be asking someone here to do a theme in the near future).

This logo does not have to be business professional. I would like the logo to be more eye catching than looking professional (if that makes any sense).

I will give two weeks for all submissions. Please post all submissions to this thread. If after the two weeks, I find a submission that I like, that individual will receive the following:

1) $30.00 US funds via PayPal

2) Once the site is completed, you will receive recongization for your work at the bottom of the site with a link to any web site you may currently have (i.e. Logo created by John Doe).

3) If interested, you can become a Moderator on the site when the site launches.

Please note that the rights of the logo becomes ownership of WinHangar.com once the winner has received payment.

allright came up with this... it's completely vectored (even the winflag part but that's not very well done... I'll do the edges to look better but i just need time)

I didn't put much effort into the text but I can surely make it however you want it if you decide upon this logo...

If you need anything changed/modified just tell me

Here is my try. The slogan is there just to show what a slogan in that space would look like. I also considered a concept with an actual airline hangar constructed with the 4 colors of the "windows logo" but then I thought it may confuse visitors of the site. Thinking that WinHangar is a site for airplanes. Tell me what you think. :happy:

Looking good so far guys. Someone in this thread raised a very good point. Would there by any legal issues using something that looks like the Windows logo in my logo? Just something that we may have to be careful of for as I don't want to get sued. :)

Yeah, I didn't even use the windows logo.. I just made 4 squares, added some color, and tilted them a little bit. I don't think Microsoft would have any problems with this.

man how many more windows hang outs do we need. they are all the same and then they all link to each other. so you can read the same thing on different sites like 8 times.

not to bash your idea, but lets try something else.

[edit] and no i have no ideas. i've been trying to think of a cool site idea forever.

I have an idea... maybe instead of incorporating anything similar to the windows logo, try incorporating something to do with flying.. since the site will be called WinHanger... maybe something to do with a plane in the logo might be cool... maybe the plane could have window colors or something similiar to avoid any copyright laws.

[for reference]I was actually aiming for the center of the Windows logo (which has some sort of X in it if you know what I mean). Anyway, no one is looking for legal issues here :)

I agree with you Chris. That's why I will be trying to incorporate something special into this site. I have been thinking a lot about what to put on this site. News, information, forums and etc. are the basics of the site, but I want to also try and offer something different. Yes there are a lot of sites that offer the same news and etc. The goal is to do something different. I have a few ideas up my sleave that will attract users to my site once it launches. The question you have to keep in the back of your mind is what do people who surf the web want? And of course, I love to take suggestions. :)

Do anything you like. Remember the actually theme of the site has not been created yet so I can base it around the logo. I am sure if it's too big we can always make it smaller. Go for it and let's see you work some magic. :)

:) Yeah, I know... but I just think a logo should go for a little higher. I really would like to spend time on it as I have some good ideas but it's not worth the time for $30 :dontgetit:

:p 30 bucks is NOT a lot for a logo. But I never said I wasn't willing... I was just wishing it was more.
