inziga
I'm looking for a set of headphones that have really good quality and range. Does anyone have good suggestions for a pair? Price isn't that pig of a issue, but I'd much prefer a set that is under 100 dollars. Thanks, Jacob Wilson
Weasel
You said 'range' so I guess you mean wireless. Can't help you much there but for wired headphones I recommend Sony MDR-CD180. They are cheap, comfortable, and they sound great.
cal2002
'range' does not likely mean wireless in regards to audio. rumbleph1$h
I'd recommend Sennheiser's headphones. I have the HD280 Pro(also use them for DJing), but the quality is phenomenal. The closed ears cancel nearly all ambient noise, meaning you can be in a room with tons of noise (tv, kids, etc.) and will barely (if at all) be able to hear them. boomn
After buying Grado SR-80 i can reccomend nothing else. Yes they are open, so you lose the advantages that rumbleph1sh stated, but you get better sound in return. The SR-80 has great bass and amazing mids and highs They sound just as good as Sennheisers that cost twice as much (ie HD280 Pro) I think i paid ~$90 for mine

Waylander
are the SR-80's as uncomfortable as the SR-60's? thank god the cable broke on my sr-60's and i could justify spending ?70 on some Sennheiser HD-570's while the sound quality is about the same there about a million times more comfortable during protracted listening (3 hours and upwards)
cesardrgn
Something i know is that Bose got the "Top of the line" headphones... here is this link and see what you think, or if you want to buy a nice pair... ==> Bose Headphones

Capodeluxe
I just picked up these: Sennheiser HD650 They're rich, but my god they're sexy. Next purchase: Perreaux headphone amp. To put it bluntly, if you're an audiophile and you have cash to burn, run to the store and grab some Senny 650's. I tried the Bose QuietComfort cans I linked to above, and while they pretty much eliminate _all_ background noise, they sound like ass compared to the 650's, and the 600's and 595's for that matter. RenaissanceMan
I agree with everyone saying Sennheiser. I have a pair of HD-790s, and they're excellent. They're probably a lot cheaper than the other models people are recommending, too. Sennheiser has great customer service, too. One side of my headphones went out a couple of months ago, and since the Sennheisers have a two-year warranty, I was very easily able to send them in and get a brand new pair at no cost whatsoever. ~RenMan

Capodeluxe
going under 20 is useless since nobody can hear under 20 :)So dont pey for "better" headphone because they are less than 20Hz Firstly, hearing range differs from person to person; 20Hz is not the universal aural barrier (although 20Hz is generally considered to be an approximate level of hearing). Secondly, while said low (and high) pitch frequencies may not necessarily be audible, the inclusion of frequencies under 20Hz and over 20,000Hz definitely does affect the atmosphere of the sound, and greatly enhances the experience. To say that buying a headphone capable of frequencies under 20Hz is "useless" is completely incorrect. Especially if you're in the field of music production.
