Desktop Icons without Text

hi,you told "Editing the Remove reg file" in Tutorial is:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{00000000-5240-0000-0000-000000000002}]

[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace\{00000000-5240-0000-0000-000000000002}]

but SCCU create this:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

;************the Following Will remove this class************
[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{3188D6C6-E789-42CE-92FD-352C7B2FB7E1}]
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace\{3188D6C6-E789-42CE-92FD-352C7B2FB7E1}]
[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace\{3188D6C6-E789-42CE-92FD-352C7B2FB7E1}]

why?what's the difference? ( i mean the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE...")

I guess you need to read the first post once again. :)

I do have new version that work in bot 32 and 64 bit Vista, been using 64 bit now for months.

Let me see if Neowin allows me to attach them.....

seems I could not attach a EXE so zip the setup file.

For those who do not want to run setup grab SCCU_11.zip, extract and use what you need....Oh SCCU 1.11 works in XP and Vista now.

Note on the 64 bit version:

With UAC enabled dragging shortcuts to SCCU is disabled, will look into the why now that others besides myself will be using it.

SCCU_11.zip

SCCU_Setup_11.zip

Right click over Class you wish to merge and choose merge or click the check boxes of the Icons you wish to merge then right click and choose merge.

A neat trick if you use Windows 7 - you can add your own icons to the context menus :

Before : Before.jpg After : After.jpg

Simply add a new REG_SZ (String Value) named "Icon" to the menu item you want to add an icon to , and in the data field enter the path to the icon.

For example , to add an icon for the "Properties" menu item in the images above :

RegEdit.jpg

Enjoy. :)
