Unreal Tournament XP Problems FYI

Recommended Posts

Awhile ago I posted that my UT would freeze up everytime I started it and it would just show a black screen and it would freeze my computer causing me to hit the reset button. This only happened in WindowsXP. Well I searched many forums for a solution without any luck and I ended up reformatting my system. Well after months of successfully running UT it did the same thing again. This time I was very ****ed off and looked even harder for a solution. People were saying it was either an infinite loop problem or my video drivers were wrong even though I had been playing on them for months. Finally I did find a solution today and I thought I would post it because I remembered a lot of other people here were having the same problem so here it is:

Go into your unrealtournament.ini and change the DirectSound to false and leave everything else the same. This fixes the problem so good luck.
